Massage Therapy
While I consider my massage practice to be absolutely therapeutic and clinically beneficial, I like to think of a massage treatment more as smoothing ruffled feathers, soothing and nurturing. I encourage my clients to take a break, rest, relax and let go, allow the gentle awareness of my touch to help you release tension and pain. My specialty is finding and maintaining just the right amount of pressure.
Since I am also certified as as Structural Integration Practitioner, I use myofascial release techniques in addition to Swedish massage if your needs are more treatment-oriented, and will likely recommend doing a Structural Integration series if you have a chronic problem.
During a massage, the client is draped with a sheet, and likely a blanket, which is then pulled back to reveal only the body part being massaged at the moment. I use avocado and/or coconut oil to reduce friction, chosen for their fabulous textures and rich skin-nourishing qualities.
